"The fur that binds us"

Films: Cursed (2005)

Alias: Jake Taylor, Jimmy and Ellie Myers, Joanie, Zipper the dog

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human (sans Zipper).

Affiliation: Good (Jimmy, Ellie), Evil (the rest)

Summary: Another bad night of werewolves making life a living Hell. It really can't get any worse than that. Especially if most of the wolves are motivated by extreme sexual lust and...well, a penchant for disemboweling.

History: Jake Taylor always seemed like sort of a prick, but there's so much more to him than meets the eye. You see, Jake is a werewolf, and any person whom he bites and/or has sex with ends up a werewolf as well. On one hand, this creates a whole lot of ups and downs for meek Jimmy Myers and his sister Ellie after they're cursed via slashing. On the other, it has made a psychotic yandere out of Joanie, who's actually responsible for way more killings than Jake is now.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Jake gets his just desserts when he's impaled in the heart and then gets his head violently sliced off by a shovel, while Joanie is lured out of hiding by some rather juvenile taunting before getting her head blasted by authorities. That main image above? That's the last thing she ever did.

Powers/Abilities: Werewolves transfer the curse by coming into contact with human blood through whatever means, be it clawing at them or biting them. They also have amazing reflexes and agility, such as using their nails to climb on ceilings.

Weakness: Silver burns them, but the only way to kill a werewolf is to destroy its brain and sever the connection between its head and heart. Also, if the perpetrator of a werewolf curse is killed, everyone else turns back to normal.

Scariness Factor: 4-Some bad CGI shots and transformations get in the way at times, but damn, it does not feel good to be a werewolf! Aside from some unsettling pre-transformation effects, such as guts being rearranged, there's also the fact that a fully-transformed werewolf is quite the savage-looking beast. And the worst (or not so worst) part? They're all totally sentient while killing.

Trivia: -This film was meant to, in the words of Bob Weinstein, "Reinvent the werewolf genre". Like a lot of things about his family, that was quite wrong...or not. It depends on how much you like this film.

-This film was plagued with bad decisions from the execs, not the least of which being that Rick Baker, one of the champions of practical effects in the industry and the goddamn maker of the werewolf from "An American Werewolf in London", was fired for no reason, and most of the impressive werewolf scenes were replaced by shoddy CGI.

More like it makes you savage.

Scooby is through messing around.
Turns out, werewolf blood also counts as roid.

Yeah, this will take getting used to.
Beware of ladies clawing their way into reality.
